We often forget that when we entered into this 360 degree world we had only our parents by us to support us .They held us in their arms,swayed us through the air holding tight and never let go.Every child s first lesson is taught by their parents ,be it to call them “mom and dad” or teach them to take their first step.They tend to work for us day and night from when we are born. They protect us from the evil ,teach us lessons of life that no school can ever teach and stand by us when we need them the most.When we are young our innumerable demands are met by them without giving a second thought. Sometimes we don’t have to demand too… because you know they ‘ll look into your eye and know what you really want and they ‘ll sacrifice everything to get you just that.
As we grow up and move into the “outer” world our parents sometimes restrict us from doing things which we might not like. Isn’t it very much like how we tend to protect the things we love and can’t live without?
Say for example, we buy an expensive phone .We tend to buy a scratch guard with it,a case to protect it and sometimes we insure it too.
We do anything and everything to protect it. Then why is it difficult to understand (sometimes maybe) that our parents who have nurtured and brought us up throughout their life ,put in all their blood and sweat to make us what we are today ,gave us everything we needed tend to get all the rights to tell us what to do or what not to!(Come on, they have watched us throughout our life and they ll obviously tend to know the right and wrong)
But the younger generation is often heard saying “IT s MY LIFE” ! Oh yes! It definitely is!And they want you to live it to the fullest! But just by growing up physically does not mean you tend to know everything possible. You need to learn from your parents and their experiences and only then are you wiser to handle things on your own.And genetically you are very much similar to them and its a proven fact that you tend to react the same way to similar situations.
In the present , many of us generally tend to have a contradictory view as of our parents.We tend to think the north while they the south. But its well said that
Communications help us clear things. And the best communication is when we share everything with our parents!
Share everything with your parents without a second thought.They are the only ones who will stand by you when the world is against you.They may react in an unexpected way to some of your decisions,scold you, or maybe go violent(rarely) but at the end they will always love you more than anyone else can. They’ll hold you through all phases of life ,hug you tight and say “It’s alright . You cannot just give up like that.”
Learn to respect and understand their point of view. If they tend to refuse to something there definitely is a reason behind it(though you might not understand when you actually should!).Don’t act rude or in rage.Ask them politely with all your love and care.Explain your view and show them your side(they might not be willing to see it at times but they WILL see it when they see you making persistent efforts!).Learn from their experiences and always remember that they are the most genuine and trustworthy people in your life who will pause their life to listen to what your life has to tell them.
Never ever lie to your parents.They believe in you more than themselves.You are only going to hurt them if you do so.They were,are and will always be the ones to catch you when you fall.Work hard instead,to give them all the love and care they deserve.They do not expect materialistic pursuits.What they expect is your love,care and respect .
Next time before asking your parents “what do you expect from me” know that all they had and ever wanted to have was you to be happy,content and smiling forever. Give them the most of what you can . Try living upto their expectations and love them forever ❤
